가이아쓰리디가 수행한 기상청의 기상정보 3차원 가시화 시스템이 현업화되었습니다. 전국 기상청 예보관님들이 이제 웹에서 LDAPS나 ECMWF 수치예보 모델 자료를 3차원 공간정보와 결합하여 활용합니다. 특히, 레이어로 되어 있는 모델 자료를 3차원적으로 가시화하기 위해 Marching Cube 같은 알고리즘을 새롭게 구현하였습니다. 대부분의 자료는 OGC 3D Tiles 표준으로 변환하여 CesiumJS로 표출하였습니다. 이제 도시, 산림, 하늘을 넘어 전 지구, 아니 전 우주를 디지털트윈으로 만들어보겠습니다. 감사합니다!
I'm very excited to share the news that the 3D weather data visualization system, developed by Gaia3D Inc., is now officially in use by forecasters across the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA).
Forecasters can now explore and analyze LDAPS and ECMWF numerical weather model data directly in a web browser, fully integrated with 3D geospatial information.
To visualize multi-layered atmospheric model data in 3D, we implemented custom algorithms such as Marching Cubes. Most datasets have been converted into OGC 3D Tiles and visualized via CesiumJS, enabling smooth, interactive exploration of the atmosphere in space and time.
From cities, forests, and skies, now to the entire globe, and maybe even to the universe, let’s build digital twins of everything.
